Sixteen members of the Moreau Fire Protection District successfully completed a first responder class, taught by Miller County Ambulance District and hosted at Eldon Fire Department Station One, 111 South Oak in Eldon. The instructor was Chris McGill assisted by Josh DeYoung and Chris Moore. The group completed 40 hours over 6 evenings and one Saturday during the month of March. The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course work included classroom, as well practical evolutions and CPR training. They were required to pass a final exam, both written and practical to obtain their certificate. Four who refreshed their current certification were: Ryan Martin, Derek Stark, Nathan Wiederhoft, and Jesse Jantz. First time recipients were: Duane Carter, Josh Martin, Jeremy Martin, Tabeal Martin, Ginny Mast, Ken Mast, Anthony Sisto, Shelby Wiederhoft, Michael Williams, and Jim Zastrow. James Biggs and Cliff Maricle assisted with the class for CEUs of credit towards their current Missouri EMT licenses.
